The M-Tac Raven Banner Laser Cut Patch is a nod to Viking history and warrior spirit. Vikings referred to a flag depicting a black raven as the "Raven Banner," which they raised on their longships when setting out for a raid. The first written mention of a flag with a raven dates back to the year 878 and is found in the Anglo-Saxon Chronicle. Much like the later famous "Jolly Roger," the Raven Banner instilled fear in those who saw it.
Ancient Scandinavians chose the raven for their war flags for symbolic reasons. According to their beliefs, the supreme Norse god, Odin, was always accompanied by his ravens, Huginn (Thought) and Muninn (Memory). Among the Vikings, ravens were considered "beasts of war" and carriers of death. Scandinavians believed that if the raven flag was fluttering in the wind, it foretold an inevitable victory. This patch is an excellent way to connect with that fierce, historical warrior ethos.
The patch is constructed from durable Cordura 500D, a high-quality material known for its exceptional resistance to abrasion and wear. Crucially, this version includes a luminescent (glow-in-the-dark) element for low-light identification. It secures easily using a Hook-and-Loop backing.
